Wonderful and rare to find such a good high back stick / combe back windsor, circa 1820/40

This fantastic period English windsor chair and combe back spindles has the expected wear and patination commensurate with its use and age.

A delightful and unusual feature of this chair is its burr seat, these were rarely produced as the burr was so prized and still is…

During its long life the chairs slab seat has suffered a few splits, which we have reinfoced with steel to avoid any future movement. (see images under seat) it won’t move now!

The chair sits perfectly and is stable and sturdy, its a joy to “perch” in actually…
