Wonderfully exuberant and highly decorative 1920’s Chinese export two tier occasional table.
A lovely example of early Chinese export furniture.
The four folding base and arms of the tables frame are profusely carved and capped with a stylised dragon or sea serpent designed to hold the table top.
The smaller of the two trays simply sits on the frame below.
Both brass trays are extraordinarily decorated with carved and chased decoration with stylised Chinese scenes.
The table and its trays are in remarkable condition given the tables age and fragility, there are a few losses and a couple old repairs, but nothing that detracts from the beauty of this very unusual table.
